Puts Kozijnen was only using part of the Priority ERP solution. Driven by its growth ambitions, this family-owned business from Limburg decided to implement the full Priority application as its central ERP system. Komexo acted as the integration partner. Family business Puts Kozijnen, based in Herten, Limburg, has specialised in the production and installation of high-quality window frames for over 40 years. The company combines traditional craftsmanship with modern production technology.
“We make the difference by combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technology,” says Ruud Puts.
The focus is primarily on wooden facade elements for renovation projects, including monumental and arched window frames. Traditional handiwork remains essential here: even modern CNC machines cannot fully replace this specialist work. In addition, Puts Kozijnen produces timber-aluminium frames. Machines produce the components, while human expertise remains essential during assembly.
This combination of automation and human expertise also formed the starting point for the company’s further digitisation. At Ruud’s request, Komexo analysed the organisation and the structure of various business processes. This revealed that the automated production control was already well organised.
Since 2021, Puts Kozijnen has been working with DeltaPI, a 3D design package that now powers around 90% of production. DeltaPI controls, among other things, CNC and sawing machines and the robotisation of the gluing process. However, not all business processes were connected to one another.
“In the office, we then went on a ‘mouse-click hunt’,” says Ruud. “How many mouse clicks are we currently making in all our processes, and how many can we save by linking our various packages together with Priority as the ERP core?”
Puts Kozijnen was already using Priority, but mainly for the sales and quotation process. Other systems functioned largely independently of it. As a result, information often had to be manually transferred from one system to another.
For example, data from DeltaPI was manually processed into quotations. This was time-consuming and made processes more prone to error. Furthermore, there was no direct link between administration and execution, making it more difficult to manage based on KPIs.
To continue growing and professionalising, an integrated digital environment was therefore necessary. Komexo is helping Puts Kozijnen to realise that environment and to ensure that Priority, as the central ERP system, aligns optimally with the business processes.
In doing so, various systems, including DeltaPI, are being connected. Future expansions, such as Cloudomotion in the factory and a webshop, can also become part of that integrated system landscape.
The ambition goes beyond just linking systems. Ultimately, Ruud wants Priority to help actively monitor business processes.
“If something deviates, Priority should flag it for us so that we can zoom in on a solution.”
Ruud sums up his ideal situation perfectly:
“If I’m lying on a beach in Ibiza and I don’t get a single notification, it means the business is running well and I can stay where I am. Does Priority send an alert? Then it’s time to take action.”
The desired shift is clear: spend less time collecting and entering information, and more time on monitoring, analysis, and management.
As is the case with many manufacturing companies, various Excel files played a major role in the daily processes at Puts Kozijnen. Rather than completely overhauling their existing way of working all at once, Puts Kozijnen and Komexo consciously chose a step-by-step approach.
“Essentially, Komexo first consolidates all those Excel files into Priority for us,” Ruud explains. “This prevents us from having to change the structure we’re used to working with overnight.”
Subsequently, the capabilities of Priority are being implemented further, step by step. This creates a setup that aligns with both the ERP system and the specific processes of Puts Kozijnen.
